Are the two rear brake discs the same? Thanks!

I don't think so. All of my parts reference sources quote the 996 disc but do not quote the BoxsterS rear disc. If they were the same then they would have been quoted. Are the BoxsterS discs main dealer only? The ordinary Boxster rear disc is different from the 996, which kinda confirms my suspicions that the BoxsterS is a special.

Thanks! The reason I asked because I am doing the 944 alu arms with 964 C2 2-piston calipers conversion for my 1303. I know that the 986 S rear discs will fit but I can get some used 996 rear discs for free locally. I did some research on some Porsche parts vendors' webpages such as Pelican, Paragon, etc. Their part references are different, except for those I found on EBC's website http://www.ebcbrakesdirect.com . The EBC part numbers for the rear discs of 996, 997 and Boxster 2.7 (99-) are the same (D1065). So I just wondered if I could use the 996 rear discs for the conversion.

According to the sources I checked the normal Boxster rear discs are the same (they carry the same part No.) and so are the rear pads for the 996, 986 and the BoxsterS - so the calipers are all the same, but on all the sources the Boxster S is either not listed or the references say specifically "not S", hence my reply.

Found another piece of information http://www.blackdiamondperformance.com/brakes_porsche.htm

It shows that the part no. of Boxster S rear disc is the same as that of 996 rear disc. May be dimensionally, they are the same. Stock units probably differ because of drilled (996) and non-drilled (Boxster S) while aftermarket performance units are usually slotted or drilled so they just use the same disc for both models. Just my guess.

I dont know all the dimensions for Boxster S disks, but they are 299x24 with 75mm offset. Maybe someone know those dimensions for the 996 C2/C4 discs?

Though I am not sure if everything would line up (especially the handbrake parts) when using 911-type parts onf 924-type hubs/trailing arms

Just came across this thread.
And I just bought 996 C2/4 discs myself. They are in fact 75mm. 299 x 24mm.
