he was doing a carbon fiber dtm for me, the last time i heard from him was october of last year. he said then it was finished and would ship the next week. last time i heard from him. that being said ,Joe always comes through. sometimes it takes a little while but he has never let me down. carbon joe is not his only gig. he has a day job that is very demanding. give a little more time i can say with some certainty you will get what you paid for. just relax a little. is this your first purchase from joe?

I've got an order in to him for a couple of roof lips, havn't heard from him in awhile, but if you just check in now and again you'll get your stuff and you won't be disappointed with the quality. It's frustrating, but it's just a sort of sidejob/hobby for him so it's just not a priority.

Yes, this is my first purchase. I felt comfortable sending him money because of the feedback from all the folks on german look. I'm also sure that the parts he makes are quality and that this is a side job for him.

Side job or not, you don't take my money in March to do a job and then not contact me for 7 months. That is just unacceptable. I have a project to complete and I would appreciate some communication. If there are any issues we can work it out and re-schedule without a problem. I really would appreciate him contacting me and letting me know what is going on.

The e-mail i have for him is carbonjoe@ca.rr.com. If this is not correct, please let me know. Thanks guys.

if you are working on a project that has taken any amount of time then you should know by now there is no such thing as a time table. you are constantly at someones elses mercy. my next question is are you just starting or near the end? joe is slow but very good and i have learned (as will you) to just leave him alone and let him work and you will get your stuff. Joe has alot of followers on this forum and im sure someone will probably bend his ear about this post and you will hear from him. thats all ive got on this. be patient and let a master work.

I've got lots of cf parts from carbon joe and am very pleased with quality and delivery time. He might just be busy or sick or something, these kind of things happen. My advice, be patient and things will turn out allright.

Let's see... Dec. 30th 2009, I have not heard from Joe once since we exchanged money via paypal in March of this year.

That is 10 months without a single word regarding my parts or our transaction. No time table for projects? My career revolves around projects and you bet your behind there is a strict time table for all of them.

Anyway, if Joe doesn't want me to feel like I got scammed, he should contact me and just let me know what is going on. What I should have done was get the seller's address and phone # so at least I'd have a way to follow up.

Joe if you see this, please e-mail me or send me a PM and let's talk.

I had the same issues with him. I received my pieces and they are beautiful, but his communication and customer service is horrible. Busy work/life/family or not, there is absolutely no excuse for this degree of lack of communication.

Yep, that's just nuts now. I have sent off a few emails myself and have heard nothing, but I dont have any money out there like you do. I wish I had a suggestion for you, but I have no idea where he even lives or what he does.

I think someone on SBO knows him personally and is close by to him.
If you post a "Where is he?" on there maybe he will pipe in and check in on him for you guys.
I know he does good work and takes a long time..but emails should be answered.

I had the same issues with carbon joe about 4 years ago and I had to wait almost a year for my parts. We got it all sorted out though.Evidently, this seems to have not gotten any better.I thought he gave up his business in 2006 due to health problems or whatever.I didnīt know that he is still in business. To be honest,heīs a real nice guy,but I was not really impressed with his work and it was not worth waiting a year for.The stuff I ordered was ok,but like I said, not really impressive. There are better carbon fiber people out there.

Hey Mark,

Didn't Christian Stelzer make some real nice carbon parts lately?
Saw some adverts from him (in german though) on Boxergasse.de the other day iirc

Update: I'm still waiting to hear back from Joe after discussing return of $$ or shipment of items. The issue at this point has still not been resolved. The last date we set for action has come and gone without a word from him.

I'm not going to get into the details, but one of his last PMs said that he was going to ship the goods out the last week in Janurary. Today is April 23rd and I haven't heard from him...

If there is a genuine reason for the delay then maybe it is time for his workload to decrease so that deadlines can be met. I for one can cope when someone says that they will deliver a part in six months and it arrives on time but irrespectve of how good they are, not meeting deadlines especially when given by the supplier is unacceptable.

Well, i still need running boards. I'm not really liking the normal type, but if I need something for my german looker. I don't know of any other options for carbon fiber running boards. Some type of newer modern rocker panel would look great, but those don't exist.

why don't you make something out of steel adn use that as a mold and fiberglass it up... ;)
I'll be doing that some day in the summer I want something that looks Modern like jeffrey's in japan or like Remelle.

I met a guy locally that does carbon fiber work. He just did a pair of gloveboxes for me. Really nice. I'll post pics in my '52 build thread tommorrow. If the interest is there, i can take my carbon running boards (not carbon Joe's), and ask him to mold them up to repop. Are all running boards the same? Standards/supers?

How many people would be interested? I'm guessing 10 sets would make the price reasonable? Honestly, I have no idea, but can investigate the option if the interest is there.

Maybe some other parts too? This could open up some options for everyone......

Let me know,
Pete

Who's your Toronto contact? Feel free to PM me, I know a few (good and bad) from my days at Vibrant and I'm curious to know who it is. Don't worry, no time to go and steal your contact to make parts :P

Perhaps we can talk at the swap meet .... I need a mold for my horizontal coolings shroud as well

It's about time there is another supplier on this side of the pond, even if the US dollar still hurts to convert to anything else. I'm all fulled up on c/f stuff (just mounted my decklid last weekend, woohoo), but glad to see there is a chance of somebody being a supplier.

Lee Arnold at LAPerformance does many CF parts and he is a reliable guy who makes high quality stuff.

Trouble is getting them, I've been asking Lee for a price quote with shipping for a roof spoiler for months and still no reply.

I found Carbon Joe on FB, but I've not contacted him yet.

Hey all superfreaks i got a carbon fiber 911 fan shroud from LA performance and it was not at all high quality at all and as i live in Australia i never did anything about it.
