I am not tthe vintage kind of vw guy, I have a 77 bus, and i want to make it have the german look. I need some suggestions? As of now i am probably going to have it painted a chromlike blue (anodized look) on the bottom wit sliver arrow silver paint on the top. I have a audiobahn and blankpunkt system. I know beetles can be made in to german lookers, what about my bus??

Yes it can and has been done. Sorry I don't have pics to post but there are a few on the net. Maybe others will post some.

Nice one Bren! Isn't that considered the "Frenchlook"?

Any suggestions to help me modify the bus would be cool. where is a good place to find some nice wheels without paying an arm and a leg??

yeah.. volksworld called graphic'ed GL's "french-lookers" cos it was a popular style in fance.. funnily enough, that crewcab was actually built in france and has now been sold to a brit.. it now lives over here and does all the shows.. its a rad bus!!

yeah.. as per the other thread.. people are far too hung up on categorising cars into a certain look.. for me, its just the best looking Type2 currently in the UK in my opinion.. i dont really care what you call it! :)

I would suggest checking www.tirerack.com , or www.tire.com (America's Tire Company). If you go with the Porsche/German Look, you'll pay an arm and leg either way, with real rims or replicas. Unless you find some on Ebay, too. As for the Tuner/Euro-look, just check the Ricer Magazines and tirerack and the likes for some cool looking wheels. I have no clue about modifying a bus, I've never had the pleasure of working on one, although I would like to, if I had one. I would think you would have to at least tub the wheel wells to fit the bigger rims, if you're gonna lower it over the wheels...
