Wheel (and tye) weight

hi all.

Basically I'm interested in what you think, is it possible that a 2 or 3 pcs wheel in the same size is heavier than a normal alloy wheel? (not magnesium)

BTW also exact wheel weights are well come, maybe can be useful for those who are looking for new wheels. If you are in the game, please attach a picture and a weight of the wheel you are using or you have info of (mainly porsche rims I guess) I'm sorry if there is an existing topic for this.

The 2/3ps wheels are definitely heavier due to no less than the thickess of the connecting flanges and the stainless bolts. The problem with giving weight for combinations of rim and tyre is that as you would expect the rims all vary but so do the tyres. Obviously, a new tyre is heavier by a good amount than a worn tyre also, i have found that the side wall thickness varies considerably between makes. I have some Vredstein Ultracs that have a 3mm sidewall whereas the Goodyear GS3s have a 5mm side walls with steel reinforcement. I doubt whether you could formulate any useful comparisons with the limited range that will be presented here.
