In the process of gathering parts for my 68 Type1. Heres the deal, friend of mine has a set of 986 rims no curb rash or dents with tires for cheap but before I jump a couple of questions.

The facts: Rims and tires are 16X6 ET50 /205-55-16 the front and 16X7 ET40 /225-50-16 on the rear.

Car: 68 balljoint front end stock at the moment,(drop spindle,CB disc kit) came with the car. If used will push things out a half inch or so.

The questions: Is the ET 50 going to be to much for the front? Mocked up it looks like I would need to space them out due to the grease caps not clearing the Porsche center cap? Would I need to narrow the beam and put a huge spacer in? Narrowed beam, spacer and stock or slightly wider fenders? Stock beam, spacer and a lot wider fenders? Options?
Should I find a better offset say a Et 40 for the front? If its a lost cause I'll just pass on them and keep an eye out for something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
