I followed the build on that car personally as I visit Remmele regularly. That's a steal at 44k...it cost much more to build it.The owner is selling it because it's too fast for him,too extreme...
It is the nicest build Remmele has done to date imho.If I had the money I would buy it immediately!

do you know why did they modify the tunel for the CAE shifter? (I haven't read the article) Thanks.

Nothing in the article on why.

He has a Porsche 5 speed transmission and uses a Porsche shifter. That particular CAE shifter is originally for a Porsche 911.The "tunnel" is round and the original vw shifter is much smaller. The Porsche shifter base is wider so the flat side will not fit firmly on the tunnel.

Good eye, it is for porsche indeed. However I like the look of the chopped tunnel, still don't see the why.

The CAE site says they make a shifter for porsche tranny in beetle with beetle "ground plate" as well:

BTW this car is just awesome

Hi

This car certainly has all the fruit but to me the wheel sizing makes it look out of proportion.

I do not like the wheel size as well

The pics in the add show parts of pages of I think a VW Speed issue.
I would be interested to know what the actual track performance is of all these top parts together. Will we ever find out?
When cars are that nice, who will actually use them for what they are build?
Just pondering, carry on pls :-)

Wally- the Boxergasse guys know;) He was at a couple of their track events afaik.

That might be a different shifter than the one used.IIRC it has something to do with the height and throw of the shiftrod also

I agree. Love the car, it has got some great features, but I don't like the way the car sits. If the body was over the wheels a bit more it would be spot on.

I agree with you Dave, personal bug bear of mine is when tyres sit outside the width of the body, even worse when the tyres have a lot of stretch on them. Seems to be all the rage with the early water-cooled lot though, I think they end up looking like roller skates..

A Top Notch car at a sealing price!
Only 3 thins I would change on this Machine would be the wheels, the gauges and the NACA ducts.
Remove NACA ducts, use Remmele style ones.
Would change those Autometer for a more unique set up: Stack,Stack, custom Porsche and the likes.
A set of 3 piece wheels with better stance would make it Epic!
But do not get me wrong If that car were near me I would be all over it!!!:D

...This car is killing me.

Skid plates and stage two on the 1302, or start looking for a 1303. Must...stop...dreaming.
