Noticed a posting on eBay stating 77-80 rabbit steering column plastic cover fits beetles from 75- up.
Anyone know if this is true?
Thanks

I'd be surprised if it did fit, it would interfere with the 73 on Super Beetle dash
its a lot longer than a stock Beetle one which are also one piece, not in 2 like that one.

You were right. Very close to fitting, but not a neat and clean look. Back to searching for a shroud! Not been very lucky with this though. Thanks for the intermittent wiper info too.

All good.
I'm wondering if they are too thin to be made in fibreglass?

You can fit the older solid metal 72-73 housings fairly easily too.

Nope, very good quality, OEM parts. The lock cylinder is the main thing that will not let it fit properly. The switches are alot smaller too causing a big hole around them. Think I found the correct one on Samba, should get it in a few days.
Could not upload picts, so heres a Flickr page. Should be the last 3 or 4 picts. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27088365@N03/sets/72157624083186672/
