I have mine on top of my fuel tank and its held in place by bracket on my strut brace.

Mine is a combo. Spare hold down, battery hold down and jack mount. I deleted the back seat, moved the battery and added the jack. The weight removed from the back seat area and added to the spare tire area helped the car to bite into corners and the jack looks kind-a cool. The plate is made from carbon fiber over honeycomb core board used for super light weight aircraft cabin flooring.
I install 4 10/32 rivnuts in the in the car and use triwing thumbscrews to hold the top cover down. The battery is mounted to another plate that locks into the spare wheel.

Dave, your car is beautiful! How well does that single wingnut hold down the jack? Seem like you'd still get some fore/aft movement out of the heavy end where the jack handle goes.

The swivel wheels of that end sit in a notched aluminum cleat so they can not move. The roller wheel sits in a full length "V" notched aluminum block. The wingnut, lock washer and stud are 5/15 and with a wedge of aluminum to take up the angle and make a square surface for the nut to clamp down on. It has not moved yet. The 2 pc. handle is clamped in a block we bored and then split, it fits the handle very tight and is held down with a 1/4" stud/wingnut/lock washer. I don't think it is going to go anywhere.

in my case , i don't need to hold it ,fits good in the stock place , however my car is not a racer ...

Because I've got a radiator up front, I've put my space saver spare tire upright. I tied it to the strut brace with a luggage strap:

I've tie-wrapped some rubber pieces to the strut brace where the wheel touches the brace. I can still move it a little bit if I apply some force. It's probably not tight enough for racing.
It's quite amazing how much space there is in the middle, I can put the wheel pretty much upright and the bonnet will still close without touching the wheel.
Here I've turned it around and put it even more upright to gain some more luggage space:
