Septembers issue of Volksworld magazine features an amazing Rallycross car with a real Frankenstein of an engine a Hewland gearbox and an interesting history. It revs to 9500 rpm and produces between 550 and 620 bhp.The mixture of parts used is incredible.
I thought you guys would really appreciate how this car has been put together,It's amazing how these things develop.
Close your eyes Wally it's got Subaru parts on it :D

This particular car is actually de tuned for today's racing, together with my 80's Rallycross Turbo Beetle, it also had 4WD
https://www.facebook.com/ERC24?ref=stream This link may or may not work, the retro class is becoming more in demand and folk want to see how we did it way back then, the 4WD Beetles were built by clever armature engineering to counter the Audi Quattro's.

Here is the dry sump Rallycross motor minus cam covers. The stock Beetle crankcase and cylinders are air cooled, the heads are liquid cooled.
