Hi

Read on another forum the following:-By simply adding the text ~original as a suffix between the existing .jpg suffix and the [/img] tag the original images will be displayed again. I think this may only work in Chrome and firefox.

Awesome! I'll try to test it out on a few posts, and see if I can "mass update" the photo bucket links, directly in the database.

Will also see if we can start storing them here (at least copies), as storage is cheap, and the posts don't make sense without the pictures in most cases.

Thanks!

I just added the workaround above to all posts with photobucket links. The query I had to use was not 100% due to various limitations (hosting, db, etc), so it may incorrectly update a few images, but I'm hoping it fixes the majority of the links. I'll work on trying to save all linked pictures, and store them on the site next year.

Let me know if you have any issues!

His guys I need to update my thread ( long overdue )

I take it this Photobucket work around only apply's to existing images already uploaded to Photo _uckit prior to them asking for hosting fees. How are you uploading images to the GL site now ??

I use Google Photos. You can create an album, and get shareable links to each photo in the album, that you can embed in your posts using the "Insert Image" button (creates <img></img> tags).

I think the file upload still works here as well, but requires login to view.
