I have the steel 944 backing plates/caliper mounts and the calipers - however I need to get the handbrake assemblies and the rear hubs/disk mounts.

Looking at the pelican parts website, the handbrake parts are all the same so they should not be a problem, but are the hubs all the same?

If you are reading this Mike Ghia, do you have these parts? If so whats your number???

Cheers
Paul

Paul,
The hubs are specific to the early 944 and 924 Turbo. Everything else uses different parts.
At this moment in time, I am struggling to find early 944 rear brakes and have nothing in stock.
I already have 2 cutomers waiting for rear brakes when I get them.

Mike,

Thanks for the reply.
So are the handbrake parts the same though?

The 924 turbo - does that have the same rear brake setup as the early 944 turbo? If so it gives me more avenues to try and find the parts I want - or a complete setup.

Thanks
Paul

So far as I know all the handbrakes parts are the same on Porsches.
The early 944 (up to 1985) uses steel rear arms. Once you get onto 944 Turbos (951) then you get ally rear arms which widen the rear axle and the caliper mount is part of the arm, not unboltable like the earlier stuff.
The 924 Turbo rear brakes are the same as the early 944 brakes, steel arms and removable backingplates/caliper mounts. The 924GT also uses the steel arms but these are a tad rare!
Everything else uses ally rear arms and will widen the rear track of your rear suspension to the point where it be impossible to get the rear wheels under stock rear wings (fenders).

Mike, how much can you do a pair of rear 4 pot brembo calipers from a 944 turbo to bolt up to the early 944 brake assy. ?

I know about the aluminium arms - I bought some 924S ones thinking they were the same as the early 944 ones - I should of read your site better!!

Hopefully I will be able to get some hubs from the guy who had the backing plates and calipers.

A pair of Brembo 4-pot calipers are £250.
I have them in stock. You will need to run small spacers between the calipers and the mounting face to cetralise the calipers over the disks.

Mike,

So if you had them how much would an early rear brake setup cost?
Also how much would you charge for a 944 master cylinder and how much extra for the servo?

Regards
Paul
