Type IV Super

Hi all,
does anyone know a source for those side intake scoops like those use on Remmele bugs?
I'm trying to find a source and price for them.
I was thinking of using those or fasioning the rear window scoops like those made by http://www.vwinnovations.com
for air intake on the Super. Though they would be functional, I don't know if they would make any difference. I do like the styling they add.
Any info on these guys?

Thanks.

Yup... they are made by Remmele.
If you can wait a couple of weeks I might have some good news for members of the board. If not you can check with airccoled.net or Remmele himself depending on where you are located.

The Boxster scoops would fit right into the GL. I wonder if they would function well with the aerodynamics of the side of a Beetle. I hate to submit hearsay, but I have heard that there is a low pressure zone in front of the rear fenders. Does anyone know if this is true? Are the Remmele scoops longer so they catch air from forward of this low pressure area (if it exists)?

How about incorporating a scoop in to the lower rear fender, this way people wouldn't have to cut up there rear quarter panels. From the scoop run a duct into the engine bay, I think it would have more of a ram air affect.

I have thought about this idea also. I would have thought there would be presure at the base of the rear fenders (there is on the new beetle). Pretty easy to do though, just fab an aly box area inside each wing behind some holes, and duct that into the engine bay. Neater and easier, and posibly more effective. I don't like those side scoops personally.

Hello,

I went to SPA this weekend to see Remmele. Nice stuff.

Wanted to buy me some air ducts. They would have set me back € 125 for the polyester ones. Saw them even more expensive at other traders (€ 160).

I am still wondering if they will be adequate to replace the stock intakes on my T3?

Photo of some parts on display. The ducts were sold before I decided I wanted to buy them.

Hello,

Strange, the link works for me.

I took some photos at Spa.
They can be seen at:
http://photos.yahoo.com/bert_van_der_jeught

I took mainly some photos of ratlooks and T3's.
The Remmele pic is hosted there too.

In case anyone is wondering, the other photos are of my air bag setup under my T3.
