Hello,

I've started this separate topic on the air dam.

This is the fiberglass front air dam I have made:

http://www.mc-fiberglass.as.ro/Spoiler%20small1.jpg

The price is $70/each and shipping to US $22.

The air dam fits only Superbeetles(1302 and 1303) and it mounts to the front bumper and fenders. It needs to be painted.

If anyone has any questions regarding the spoiler feel free to ask!Any suggestions on how to custom modiffy the spoiler are also wellcome!(vents, profilles, any ideas! )

Also, if someone wishes one for standard beetle I may have the possibility to make one.
Feel free to ask any questions!!

Thanks for the interest!

regards,

Martin

i would be interested in one. what would the price be and what would it be if you made one in carbon fiber too? thanks. SAM. is that $70 US dollars?

Martice
March 15th 2003, 16:31
Yes, it's 70 USD.

I just can't make one in CF right now for two reasons: never worked with CF before, and the CF is very very expensive here.

so did you say that you have one made for a standard bug? i have a 70 standard and would love to handle better at high speeds. how much would shipping be approximately to Utah, USA? thanks. SAM

MARTIN YOU THE MAN :)
Just got my air damn from Romania yesterday.. Was excited to try it on the car this weekend only to get hit with SNOW and Rain all week, in NJ..

Well must say you are a man of your word.. Part is nice and will be a great addition to my vert.. Now if you can explain how you mounted it.. And what holes you used.. This would be great.. :)

I assume if I want to paint I should Rough it up alittle?
I might leave it black as I am interested in Powder coating or painting my Bumpers..

hey
how do you mount your spoilers just out of suriosity as ive just had one made up in carbon fibre by a company locally to me and it doesnt flex as much as the plastice one so im gonna have to mount it underneath, just wondered if you had the same prob.

It mounts only with 6 screws and it can be taken down. I myself wish to take mine down during the winter because I don't want to gather all the snow with it :)

Martin

PS: if your car is now lowered you'll have no problems on bumpy roads, you should see the roads over here...

I've mounted my spoilers (both plastic and fibre glass) normally, in the bumper without any problems. Maybe it deppends on the bumper, some models may be different.

Do you belive yours is has a differend curve angle?

Martin

i think that is due to the curve of the bumper it seems to be a funny shape as it curves around sharply at the end. Ill have to see if it shall give a bit when the bumpers on the car

What is the difference in the handling of your car since you have put your spoiler on the front of your 1302?

Is the difference noticable?
does the front end of the car hold more to the ground?
does the car tend to wander less at hgih speeds?

thanks
joe

hey Martice, i talked to John Connoly at Air Cooled.Net and he said he would be interested in carrying your kamei front air dam in his shop and keep them in stock. i scored you a deal on this one huh. maybe you can hook me up with one now lol. he said to email him and talk it over with him. he is very reputable and honest and way cool to get along with. go to aircooled.net and click on contact and email him through that. sorry if this isn't where i am supose to put this thread but i couldn't find his email but didn't have long to look either though. see ya guys.

do you make any CF parts for the 914 porsche? flares, targa top, etc. There are a lot of fiberglass parts that would be much better in CF.
