I've got bugpack urethane bushes in my front beam. I'm just in the process of rebuliding the front suspension up & noticed the top trailing arms are quite a loose fit in the bushes. Is this normal or should I repalce the top bushes?

I have built two front ends with the ureathane bushings and I had to drive the arms in on both of them. They were tight but not excessively so. It sounds as if they are worn. There is about 50,000 miles on one set and as the car will be going through a total rebuild soon I will keep you informed about their durability. Be sure to grease them reqular.

they could be worn, but they have only done about 500miles. I think I'll have a better look at them to see what the problem is.

fit new proper bearings.. they will last over 200k miles not 50k! they will also support the trailing arms better..

If I had it to do again I would go with the stock setup. The inner bushing don't really wear. They are not available though as far as I know. The outer bearings are available. In all the front ends I have rebuilt the right lower bearing is always the worst. I think this is from running off on the shoulder. It would be reversed for an english car. The inner bushings always look great even with 300,000 miles on them.
