Your avatar is awesome!

The German Look is here, and it's gaining strength.

Boy, the German Look may be "gaining strength" but I sure wouldn't call it "strong." I tell the air-cooled shops in the Mid-Atlantic area what my ideas are, and I get a myriad of responses including -- none particularly positive. And I'm not talking anything really trick like hiding door hinges. Anyway, I'm more disgusted than discouraged. This site keeps my spirits up.

Out West its still very slow to catch momentem. Probaly cause of the deep rooted Cal Look scene here. I haven't seen any on the road yet, one at Bug-o-Rama last year, and a rumor of another one up North. Aside from Cyrus2Dope, kdanie, and myself. I haven't got any hate from the local shops. Hopefully when I get my project further along that will change.

Well you got to remember that it is still only a couple years old here, so it will be a few more years before it is really strong.

The "slowness" probably has a lot to do with it being so expen$ive!!!

With clubs like VKG in the US and Boxer AG in Toronto, we hope to spread the word.

I like the idea of moving away from just straight line performance and including Turns into the mix.

I think with more examples of GL Vw's on the road, peoples perceptions will change ! That VW Speed article in 'Trends has to help.

Out West most of the property was surveyed before anything was built hence alot of straight lines as the roads were usually built before the houses. In the East it was just the opposite. Towns were built along rivers and connected by roads later. The roads were generally built to avoid already built up areas and they also followed the terain due to lack of powered machinery. In other words more curves in the east. A cal look car will work well out west as they generally go best in a straight line. In the north, northwest, northeast, and south where there are curves and alot of rain or show they would be skating around like an elephant on rollerskates.
Six years ago when I started this journey there were only rumors that this or that had been done. As time progressed people tried out ideas and posted the results on the internet. The internet is one of the greatest information sharing ideas of all time if the government doesn't mess it up. Last year I only counted about 6 people on this forum in the US actually in the process of making a car. The rest were formalizing their ideas and starting to collect parts. Now there is a great number more starting their cars. The right parts are hard to find and expensive. While the information is becoming more available there is still more yet to go. Sorry just rambling.
