Somebady know if is possible use in a type 4 engine other non
VW pistons,just boring liners.
I listened somepeople used a std Jeep piston +- 95 mm, boring
liner in a type 4 94mm ,and increase the piston size using a
same liners bored.
Thank you for help.

yes, just check that they clear everything and fit properly. I heard of guys using Toyota pistons here, due to the rarity of decent yet affordable aftermarket pistons down here

We use motorcycle-pistons, too. I would be a bit freightened of the Jeep pistons, they sound not good for me. The heat dissipation and the extending of the piston is very different from this engine, but ask the manufacturers before, most of them can tell, if you could drive such a piston in an aircooled engine!

We receive 96mm pistons for 80mm lift, that you can fit into the 94mm liners after boring & honing. That are 4 valve models with a relatively flat piston bottom, I think it's a Yamaha model, but don'T ask me for special numbers (It's from a KS piston book!), as I searched pretty long for them! ;)

Well I use Subaru pistons in my type 1
They are forged and v good.
I think they are 94mm and I use a 92mm moly crank.

If anyone has information as to what brands and part numbers, that would be of great help.
