I need hinge supports cut out of a late model beelte to weld in place of mine. Mine are completly trashed. I tried to repair them, but it will not last more than a few years before they pull apart. Anybody got a parts beetle out there??

Thanks!

The two supports that are spot welded under the vents below the rear window. The engine lid hinges bolt into them. Is this enough info? If not, I can take a photo. Thanks!

Hey, I got a 72 1302 thats a parts car and could sell them to ya. I dont want to cut anyone else out of a deal; but I noticed that you live in Chandler AZ., I used to live in the Peoria/Glendale area. There used to be a junk yard off of 44st. and Mcdowell rd. that had lots of bugs. It may be cheaper quicker and easier to go there for them. Let me know if you want the ones I have. I'm thinking like $5. plus the shipping. I dont need them and would give them to you, but I would have to borrow the tools to remove them. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Randy

Thanks Randy! I know the area you are talking about down by the airport, but I don't remember seeing a vw junk yard. I will have to check that out. But, to save time I will take you up on your offer. Please send me an e-mail to weberm71@yahoo.com and I will give you my address and you can let me know how and where to send money. Thanks again!

I've got a set from a 72' 1302 that I'm cutting up. Just to make sure we are thinking the same thing send me a pic to this email:

EvilOval@msn.com

If its what I think it is I can take them off the car this up coming week and send them to you on Monday. If $20 ((including shipping...assuming the part I'm thinking is correct)) will work for you then let me know.

Thanks,
Stephen
