off topic, but seemed to most pertinent to you guys so i am putting it here. sounds like a great event and a great place for a bunch of GL's...

RUSH have been added to the Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto with THE ROLLING
STONES event at Downsview Park, Wednesday July 30th.

Here is what the band had to say about their involvement in the event:

"Even though we have not played together for 8 months, we will put a show
together and join the outpouring of support for the city that we love and live
in." Geddy Lee

"When we were first asked to play Molson Canadian Rocks For Toronto, it seemed
impossible to say yes. We had been off the road for 8 months, our gear was in
the warehouse, most of our crew was out on other tours, and even we were all
over the place Â_ Geddy with his family in France, Alex working in the studio
mixing our Rio de Janeiro show, and me on my motorcycle in the California
mountains. However, when we thought about everything Toronto meant to our lives,
to our work and play, our homes and families and friends, it seemed impossible
to say no!" Neil Peart

Tickets $21.50 (inc. GST) plus applicable service charges

the news stations are looking at 500,000 people at downsview!! same setup as when the Pope was in town. tickets will be released a couple more times. i think they are releasing them in 100, 000 ticket lots. about 300,000 tickets have been sold already. this was on CityTv last night.

Well.....why aren't you?
Someone will be able to get you a ticket and a place to stay should not be that hard to find.

hey, i am always up for a free trip if someone is throwing tickets at me. can't justify the trip otherwise though as i will just have gotten back from 10 days in Florida for a vacation.

that is a great price on tickets to the show too. hell, i paid something like $45/seat to see Rush earlier in the year. they just get better every year.

i have always wanted to go to Toronto. i have only been to Montreal and the area. didn't even make it to Toronto when i lived in Detroit. i only made it as far as Windsor. something distracted me there and we never made it any further. :D
