View Full Version : Adjusting an adjustable beam

Now that I have my dropped spindles, I need to raise the front suspension.

The suspension itself will not drop far enough, I have to somehow push up the adjusters.
I've tried placing a jack under the socket, but this works kinda hokey. Any tips ?

I've already tried removing the shocks and tierods, but the suspension will not drop any further, I don't know why..

Thanks,

Rob.

Something is not right. You should be able to adjust the front with the two adjusters. DO you need to go up now or do you still need to go lower?

I think I did not explain myself well enough.....
Because of the dropped spindles the front sits too low.

In order to raise the suspension, I need to adjust the beam.
When I put my car on jackstands, with the suspension at full drop, I still need to force the adjusters up in order to get the height I want.

I just thought of something, maybe my torsion tubes are sagging ? Or maybe I put them in wrong ??

Rob,

I think all dropped beams may be different. When I got mine, I had the choice of having the adjusters so you could get a 2" drop and a 2" raise (4" of adjustment) or a 3" drop and a 1" raise (4" total).

Could this be the problem ?

I remember at the last meet, your front end was pretty high for a dropped beam. Mine is dropped 3".
