I have early 944 rear trailing arms including the hub and backing plate. There has to be something missing. Is there a bracket that the rear caliper bolts to? I mean, the holes are on the backing plate, but is there a bracket that bolts to the backing plate for the caliper? I'm using 993 rears. If you are looking at the face of the assembly, you see holes, but the caliper mounts the other way, from the top. I'll try to run to my garage to get some pics. Thanks.

There's gotta be a bracket that mounts to these holes for the caliper, no?

You have to make a bracket. The 993 stuff is radial mount and the 944 brakes axial mount.

Maybe some Porsche tuner sells brackets that are made for the conversion.

Thanks Supe. I have all MBT front stuff. My next step was MBT for the rears, but getting stuff from them takes so long. I will try though.

No reply yet to my e-mail to MBT. If need be, is there anyone I could contact to get me the parts?

Hello Julian,

you said that you have already the rear calipers and they are radial mounted-are you sure though that they are from a 993? As far as I know the 993 have axial mounted rear calipers. I have the 993 Turbo setup all round and the rear ones fit axialy and exactly on the backing plate (as in your picture) with the use of spacer shims between the plate and caliper. I bought them from the MBT also(the spacers). If your calipers are radial mounted and black color, there is big chance to be boxster (986) or even 993 BUT from the front axle-check the piston size-. Anyway, if you want help contacting Uwe in MBT I can do it, as far as I;m waiting from him some other parts also and I;m in contact with him. What he will need definitely from you is the part number of the caliper, so as to be sure that he can supply you with the corect adaptor.

Hope this helps
