new member options

we have the dues set at $20/year currently. with that you get a VKG sticker and welcome letter and discounts with our sponsors (only one at the moment). i have been thinking of some options to make it even more palletable.

what do you guys think of increasing the initial joining dues, not subsequent renewals, to say $40 and include a free t-shirt and second sticker with joining? this basically covers the cost of the two. may have to be $45. depends what we do about making the t-shirt available. my thought was pick a standard one off of cafepress and order it through the club and just have it shipped straight to the new member.

what do you guys think about that? any other ideas out there?

I think this is an excellent idea myself.

It should probably be around $50 though, because after paying for stickers and a shirt, the club still needs to put some money into our fund (for whatever comes up).

And I dont think that $50 is out of the ball park when you are talking about an exclusive club that is the first of its kind in the US.
Renewals could still be $20.

If the BK Boys can charge and get $200 to join their little club, I dont see why we cant Charge $50.

The BK dropped the $200 fee(when they had 4 members) because they weren't getting new members then they grew to 9 members, now back to 8 members. If it gets to high it may turn folks away but a shirt is a cool idea and folks would get their moneys worth and the renewal is still a bargin. Sponsorship and maybe some kind of fund raising is the key to keeping some funds flowing and the club growing.
