I just got done reading the Latest news page from Bug Jam Website (http://www.floridabugjam.com/The_Latest/the_latest.html).

This year may be the last Bug Jam as we know it!
According to the website, the people that run Bug Jam dont have enough time to do this event every year and are currently in negotiations with other promoters to carry on Bug Jam event next year.

So, without jumping to conclusions, there is a small possibility that there will be no more Bug Jam next year if things dont get worked out.

So what does this all mean to the VKG? Every member needs to attend this year as a club, with or without your VW to show our support for those that do enter the show, so that we can possibly go out with a bang! Those that are planning to enter need to get there butts in gear to get there cars ready!

This year, they are going to allow people to show there cars together in a group. Usually you would park in your repective classes. In order to park together though, we all need to enter the gates at the same time. This will take come coorindination on our parts as a club.

It also says on the website, that all entries must be made in advance this year, no day of show entries!

Please Read the info on the Bug Jam Website

Hello,
I'll be there with a beetle but it'll be the same junker that I'm always driving. I'm not going to be able to start my GL Rebuild until March or April. SO that means they'd better have another Bug jam so I can show off my pimp car when it's done!

Last year I got my car back from paint in Sept. and planned to have it at the Bug Jam but I had to wait 2 months for my MaxxStruts so I couldn't get it done. I think Zen has most all his parts so he should make it with a little help from his friends:D
Need to have a couple shake down runs on it before heading to Fla.

Road Trip!!!

I am in! (marked on calendar and ok'ed with wife)

I will be leaving Friday morning to catch the Bulli Brigade and all that Fri night and Sat. Then onto the Bug Jam on Sunday. Probably return Monday or do a half and half Sun night/Monday.

If all goes according to plan... Sporting a T1 2.2L (78x94) and rear IRS with 944 brakes all around! Found most of the parts I needed today at the junkyard :) Thing output flanges, $20!!! Great used "AE" case $100. And to boot an old school 010 dizzy for $10! Just ordered the rest of the parts from Pelican so I should be gettin' going soon.

Toughest part might be machine work on the T1 case to clearance, deck, and bore for 94s. Hopefully Jake can do it... Otherwise PITA to RIMCO, good work just slowish from what I understand (?).

Take Care,

dude, i wish i knew you were going. i may need a set of output flanges myself. although john and i are thinking of going:

T1 flange - T1 CV - T2 axle - T2/181 CV - 951 arm

so i will still need a set of axles. have any?

that is great that you are coming!!!!! i have a gig friday afternoon, so not sure when i will get on the road. we will all need to talk about a caravan. not sure what the other SEVWC guys are doing yet. i will be heading back on monday.

Zen, I have some 944 axles I think.

Just sold the bus axles I had two days ago :( Figured I would never need them.

Also I have some Beetle axles but that is no help to you at all.

Cool we could travel back together on Monday then :)
