Hello,
My inflow of money isn't the greatest at the moment so I was thinking of just powdercoating some 15x6 steel rims and slapping that on my GL. As for tire choice I'd probably go with a 205/50/15. Would this still be considered germanlook or what? Thanks for any input

it seems to me with the cost of powdercoating your stock rims, you could pick up a real cheap set of rims off ebay.

Dave (NOH2O) got Porsche 16 x 6 wheels for $300.

I got a set of very clean used(not recon's) C-2 16x6 from wheel enhancment for $75 ea. on clearance. They emailed me detailed pix of each wheel. Very good folks to deal with.

Cookie cutters. Cheap and very effective.

Some sets on e-bay go for under 100!

yep. p/c will cost you $40-$50 per rim anyway. you can easily get cookoie cutters and sometimes phone dials for cheaper than that. consider 2.0l Fuchs if you can not change bolt pattern yet. those are in the same price range and can look great if done right. don't invest your money is a solution you do not ultimately want. there are better options out there.

I saw a nice set of polished 2L Fuchs with Porsche center cap on STF in Fla. for $500, Dave Mace bought a very nice set(polished with tires) for $400. Just bolt them on.

I think I'm going to go with porsche cookie cutter wheels in 15x6. That way my stock disk brakes won't look tiny under them. I'll probably way until I do my back disk brakes.

good call. just remember they require conversion to 5x130 studs.
