why should i drop my front end?

can anyone give me a straight answer?

will it improve my breaking,handling or is it just for the looks?

please give me answers with explanations that a common person would anderstand.

I think most people do it for looks.
But if you do it properly it will improve handling because you lower your center of gravity.

Also, usually the suspension gets stiffer when you lower the car which also improves handling by reducing body roll.
This keeps the tires in better contact with the road which means you have better grip.
