hi neil

from what i remember reading the caliper is from a ghia or a golf (rabbit). If you go for a vented kit then its the same caliper but it has been widened. The 4 pot vented kit is a brembo i believe.

Intresting. I didnt know that the calipers where just modified ghia calipers. Does anyone know if Topline offers the vented kit?

As far as I know the only vented kit is produced by Kerscher which many tuners sell like CSP. All other vented kits are true Porsche kits or kits that use the Boxster rear caliper with the Kerscher disk.

I might be wrong. Would not be the first time. :D

Indeed they are - I purchased the vented disc kit through CSP's USA distributor. The calipers are Ghia with a simple, free-hand cut (read: cheap and quite unsightly) aluminum spacer that spreads the caliper across the wider, vented rotor. When I opened the box, I wasn't very impressed with it from an appearance point-of-view but functionally it should be sound (although, a little grinding was requried on the inside to clear the rotor). The only thing I'm concerned about it caliper flex under extreme conditions.

I figure I'll try these first and use them as a base comparison before jumping to Porsche, Brembo or Tar-ox caliper upgrades.
