What dose it take to graft 911 lens to a bug, are there any special years that are important, I like the look and know you need later year fenders for it to work so any info would be great Thanks JR

Correct me if I'm wrong, the pre 1967 Beetles all used the oval shaped headlamps. I think they were the 'Rossi' style.
If you're not running a Super Beetle (1302, 1303) then the fenders pretty much bolt on. The issues will be with getting the bumper mounts or brackets modified. Check into it. If your local VW supply house has both early and late fenders, match them up and I think you'll find that the mounting bolt holes line up!
Hope this helps.

I'm in the process of doing this myself. I have a 74 standard and want the 911 lense look.
I ordered 2" wider front fenders (Bugpack) with early style headlight buckets. I also picked up some Bosch H4's to fit a Porsche 911 up to '89.
So bolt up the fenders (same mounting pattern), install the lights (my wiring will fit the H4 bulbs fine) and modify the bumper mounts on the body to fit the ->'73 bumpers.
On the rear, I'm going with 62-67 style lights.
Hope this helps.
BTW, the 911 lenses fit the early style light assemblies. Just remove the clear lense and install the 911 fluted lens.

I have a 70 type1 with '65 front fenders and taillights. It fools people into asking "is that a 66?". 911 lenses fit right in.

I got a set of 356 headlight grilles on my beetle.
Yea you do, and they look amazing!!!!!
My dad is restoring a '60 super 90 356, and he has a set of these on his car. Now when I look at his car I always wondered "Gee, I wonder what that would look like with those on MY car"
Only problem is that I have a 70, and you'd need pre '67 (Correct me if i'm wrong, and i'm probably wrong :-> ) headlights to fit them on right?

I found some fenders on the web site for creative car craft fiberglass shop . They are for the super beetle , and you can get them in three different styles . They come in regular , early style headlight(pre 67) or rectangular headlight . They are , of course , fiberglass , but they are pretty cool looking . The wen address is creativecarcraft.com/super.htm . The fenders are also widened . Axl .:)
