I have stock 4 x 130 drums...and just bought some 17 x7 and 17 x 9: 996 wheels off a 99' Carrera. I have CCC 2.5" wider front fenders and 3" backs. I've been searchin around and lookin at 944 conversions, but I need to know about how much cash thats gonna run. The wheels themselves put a dent in my name, now I just gotta get em on there. Right now, the struts are stock, but soon to be adjust a struts....maxx's are a little outta my budget. I would just redrill my drums, but I dont wanna pack giant spacers on there. Thanks fr any help.

Nice wheel choice for your car. So far I have spent $100 dollars on 87' 944s rear trailing arms and $120 dollars on 87' 944s drive axles complete. I haven't completed the car yet so I don't know if there will be any more costs. Hope this helps...

Where's a good place to find 944 components?

I like ebay, It's where I found all my parts for my beetle. But always check the sellers feedback rating. So far I purchased front and rear 944s front brakes and 944s complete rear trailing arms, 944s torsion springs, spring plates, axles and my prized possesion, a nice set of 18" turbo twists. All without a problem..

I think 944 front suspension is pretty cheap considering how much of an improvement it makes. I got two complete front struts from a '85 944 N/A with calipers, hubs, bearings, and everything for $125 on Ebay last January.

New strut cartriges, $100.

Cross drilled rotors from Ebay, $175.

Caliper rebuild kits, $40.

Kerscher ball joints, $108.44.

Left-foot braking pendilum turns in a Superbeetle.... Priceless.
