I have a 73 super beetle with stock drums. I just bought 17's off a 99' carerra, I need to know what brand/thickness/and where to get the adapters I need. I have 2.5" / 3" wider fenders keep in mind. I know adapters arent the way to go but I'm on a budget. Thanks a million.

17's. 7 upfront, and either 8.5 or 9 in the back

This is really so hard to answer over the 'net.
If u have a look on the back of the wheels you will see some cast in #'s. One of them will say ET50 or something similar
I cannot remember my back ET but i think it is 40. My fronts are definitely 50's
This is with 16" 6" & 7" boxster wheels
I dont run any spacers, but my car is Australian 1974 L that has disc as standard
I did have to turn a bolt around on the spring plates and cut a bit off the bump stops for the back.

Your fron 17x7 wheels are et55, same as mine. My rears are Boxster, 8.5" wide et50. I don't know what the offset of a 9" wheel is. As far as I know, all 911's got a 17x9" wheel out back.
You're going to need to space these wheels out quite a bit to clear your struts, so you could factor that into your adapter setup, but I don't know of any 4x130 to 5x130 adapter that also spaces out over and inch. Maybe you can get something custom made?
If you get 5x130 drums all around, then you just need to space the wheels to clear everything, front and back.
This is a little off topic, but are you the same guy that asked this question about a month ago, and that I gave the same answer to? The similarities are too great to ignore.

I asked a question similar to this, but about different wheels. I lost the 1st bid on ebay, and just now won a different set. Sorry to be an inconvenience to your life.

You're not an inconvience at all. Never meant to make you feel like that. I was just curious. I've always got time to help someone out.
Anyway, you've still got a lot of spacing to do :)
