TopLine disc brake kits (Worth the price)

Im still looking at the option of going with a easy bolt on Topline disc brake kit all around (front and rear). I need 5/130 bolt pattern and topline can do this.
All in all for around 700 bucks i can have this setup drilled with the Porsche 5/130 bolt patern. Is this price worth it? im going to be doing a lot of Auto -x racing, daily driving. so i need a good set of brakes. Or is there another easy way to go. somthing with out to much fab work and cheaper maybe?

Basicly opinions on the topline setup would be helpfull.

You might want to do a search cause this topic has been covered several time. If I were you I'd spend that $700 a little better and get a full set of early 944 brakes. There is very little modifications to make it work on your 74 1303. That's just my 2 cents.

nexting against the Topline brakes, but for $700 I would consider buying the Kerscher bakkjoints. These would allow you to run Porsche 944 spindles with no mods. Then you could just bolt on 944 Vented Rotors & Calipers no problem. These would probably be much better for a racing application and cheaper to do too.

Topline has a great kit and it is worth the money. I have has no problems with anything I have bought from them and they are great to deal with.

However, I must agree with the general consensus, especially when we're dealing with "German Look". Since you have a 1303, it's pretty easy for you to put on 944 brakes, so you might as well go for it.

944 brakes are what i wanted at first, but nothing was really clear to me on its fitment. As it sounds, early (pre 86 right?) NA brakes will bolt right up (in the front) with just a set of new balljoints? there is no bering adaptors and crap?
The rear i know bolts on i think (right) as the 944 uses the same style arms.
And all thats needed is to adapt the parking brake ends?

Basically the two choices (944 vs. VW) brakes cost about the same but the factor to take into consideration is that the VW brakes will be all new parts and the 944 brakes will be all used parts. Another thing is with Autocross cars you'll want the advantage of the lighter VW brakes for unsprung weight on short runs. It's all pros and cons and in the end you'll have to decide what is best for yourself. Just remember with the 944 comes more stopping power but at a cost in brake and wheel weight.

Your right about the weight deal Superman, im trying to go for the lighter parts if posible. but somtimes the extra weight gains might not be an big deal if your geting more stoping power.
I guess the real questions now are the weight diferances, along with the stoping capabilities of the two. Does any one have this info?
