how much interest is there in reducing studs for 12mm bug shocks on a 14mm 944 trailing arm mount? i have a shop looking into making me some and can do quantity if needed. minimum quantity would be about 100 though. i will burden the cost and quantity and sell with a small margin to cover risk and time. curious whether or not there would be buyers though. don't know cost yet, but will be in the area of $5-$10 each depending on what quantity i buy.

NO liability on my part though!!!!!!!!!! as they say, this is only for off-road use then.

no interest? i would need to turn out about 20 pair to get my costs down to what i would be selling to everyone else for. not sure this can happen. my other choices are reem the shock or pay $110 to have two of these studs made.

Zen,

Are you talking about a 14mm bolt that would fit into the 944 trailing arm and then is reduced to 12mm to allow fitting of the regular Type 1 shock?

If so, then I would need a pair.

yes, i am. looks like i am going to drill my shocks as a short term solution (just so i can get to a show next weekend), then come back for the right solution. if there are enough people that show an interest here i will still do the studs because they are the best solution i have heard yet. it will take about 20 people though. i will also be posting on other forums too though.

Hey Zen,

I last mock fitted my ali arms 2 years ago. I got a quote of £65 for a pair of rolled thread M14*1.5/M12 studs. Or ~£65 for 100 studs.

this is about the same for a pair, but $275US for 50, $350 for 100.

I am interested. I'd buy a few sets if thats what it would take to get a decent price. Put me down for 4 pair. I'm sure I'll need them eventually.
