help with my hood !

i took off my ood over the winter while installing numerous new engine parts. now i can't remember how it goes back on and can't seem to get it right. that spring is like one of those metal chain puzzles that is imposible ot figure out. please describe to me in detail how to get it back on. thanks.

Did you leave the spring attached to the hood? If you did the long skinny U shaped bit points up in the air as you move towards the car slip this into the holder on the body. 2 or 3 people helping is best to avoid scratching. I removed the pins from my hinges and used 40 hp dipsticks instead, as in this picture.
