Hi Oliver
Could you give us a few more a few more details on the rear suspension you are running. Is there a particular year of 944 that is more desirable for it rear anti-roll setup? Most of the American parts suppliers use a Weltmeister 22mm rear sway bar replacement kit (~$300.00US), and I doubt that comes with the mounts to the torsion tube. Is there much work involved in welding the mounts on? I'd have to get my local body man to do the work. Are there any other alternatives to the 944 setup used over in Germany? Thanks for added information. I'll probably call next week to see how the engine is coming along and ask more questions.

I wouldn't recommend a bar of more than 19mm, as the beetle is a rear engine car and not a front-engine-car like a 924/944. The weight balance is very good even with the original 16mm bar on the rear. More in the front is needed! 19mm with a standard-type bar is a must!

Use all original parts from the 924/944 and saw away the original mounts from the torsion bar housings of the Porsche!
