Why don't you want the fine spline axles. It is the same as the VW (33) You could use the type 2 CV's.

oops, my bad. :o I thought VW was course, and 951 was fine spline.

Hokay, I need 33 spline, 21" 944 axles. I guess they come from a 924S/944S

You got a set?

German Auto Dismantlers (formerly PAP) has boxes of them. they just let me go through it myself and pick them out. if you are going to jake's anytime soon, they are about 10 miles my way from him. they often aren't the cheapest, but they have them. talk to Dave and tell him i sent ya.

Well,.. if fine splined axles are what I need, I could drive back to dC Auto and get a pair from Rob (I think his name was Rob  ) He had a pair from the same car, and he's got a painfully complete 944S that arrived Saturday.

Mabye two hours driving, and a hundred bucks on that.

Anyway, I'll have to wait 'till after vacation now. I blew my wad on aluminum channels for a tranny mount, and stainless tubing for oil plumbing this afternoon.

Thanks for the idea Zen. I'll shoot them a request and see how much they want for a pair. They might be cheaper than dC considering what he wanted for some of his other stuff   .

Damn, that was a nice car, shame to see it get taken apart. Straight rust free body, 16v motor. Probably needs a clutch or tranny work. Usually what parks them.
