So I was the guy talking about rims other than the empi's that every one uses, and getting some $$$ porsche rims. Any ways I found some wheels that I like and should be able to find them used at a good price. They are 5 spokes that look sort of like twisties, I try and post some pics. But, the problem seems to be that the offset is large, probably to big so I wanted to see if any one here has dealt with rims this size.

2003 Mazda 6
17 x 7
5x114.3 (bolt pattern)
lugs are 21mm with a 12x1.5 thread (if it matters)
60 mm offset

And there is the issuse the offset +60mm.

I know that a lot of people run the boxer rims with the +55 offset, but any one run anything bigger? How could I make this work on a 1970 pan? Ball joints / IRS.

thanks for anyhelp.

if needed you can just use spacers to make up the difference. would only have to be 5-10mm.

Zen thanks for the reply

And I did some re reading of the article and some old posts, and I wanted to make sure I got some things right. With a stock suspension a 17x7 +35 offset will fit well under the stock fenders right?

so In actuallity I only need to make up for that difference in back spacing. So I would need to use a 25mm ( 60-35=25 ) spacer to make it fit. Aprox ~ 1 inch.

So If I wanted to I could simply buy a 1 inch Bolt adaptor and the rims would work. Right?

--------------------

This is what I was thinking. I need to narrow the front beam, given. And I'll be using the CB performance disc brake, Don't really have the resources to go 944. And will need about a 25 mm spacer/adaptor.

but what problems will I run into with the rear? I know the issue with "That Bolt" and the rear bump mount. But will I need to space out the rear at all? Also planned on the rear discs but was hoping to stick with drums for a while.

-------------------

this all seem about right?
how far narrowed on the beam should I go? (I like the new CB beams only 2")
What do I have to do to the rear?
Also how would all of this effect the steering? Would I still have a close to stock steering circle?

thanks Again
