I just received my CCC fiberglass fenders in the mail this week. :agree: My question is what is the best bit to use to drill out the fender mounting holes? CCC suggested a "dull drill bit". I was wondering about a step drill (like is used to drill holes in sheet metal) or a fine-tooth hole saw. I see quite a few fiberglass fenders around here. What did you guys use???

Use a pilot drill then open it up and clean it up with a round file.

use some masking tape to help the drill get started. The use of an old/blunt drill bit is that a sharp one tends to grab the gel coat and it splinters and comes off in chunks. I found it noticably worse when I pre-drilled using a smaller diameter so in the end I just used the ful size drill from the start and was extra careful with positioning

Thanks for the advice, but which one? Guess I'll just have to try all three and see how it goes. Man, I hope I don't mess these up... :bawling:
