New to the boards, and I'm putting together what will be a GL Karmann Ghia. One goal is to drop in a 901, because I'm probably one of the few people left who like the shift pattern.
Anyway, all the instructions I've seen so far include lengthening the shif rod by a certain amount, and putting a bend in it. What about using a 914 tail shifter linkage as the base? It is surely long enough, and I think it has some bends that could be manipulated.
Is this worth risking a few bucks? If it works like I think it could be the hot ticket, as these linkages just get thrown away on a regular basis.
