Autocross???? You better make sure your engine can handle a hard corner without a loss of pressure! I found that my car handles way better than my oil system.

Zen and I are on the roster of Dyno Day and the BK have a track(drag) for Sun. the 6th down in LaGrange. I think I will run mine a couple times. Looks like if your car is in the 9's (1/8th mile) you will have to have seatbelts and a helmet(seatbelts for all cars). I think Zen and I will have to find some helmets. It's $15 to get in and $15 to race, the BK boys say that it will just be heads up fun racing, grudge match or what ever. I havn't lined up at a tree since I was 18.

i've never dragged. so will be interesting.

if anyone else is planning on dyno'ing, get your registration in now. they are almost full. they were also talking about maybe racing that night. i think racing plans are still up in the air.

Sooooooo, let's talk plans. It is only two weeks away. Who's coming in Friday night and do you want to do something. Dave and I had been talking about getting a room down there so Saturday is a little easier. I'm thinking based on my performance last year that that is a good idea. It does leave me coming crosstown on Friday however. I might just take the day off and come down before rush hour.

Do you guys want to have a VKG thing and find something to do down that way Friday night? I have no idea what is in the area, but we can figure something out. I am sure the BK will have something going on anyway. I have not read up on it on STF yet though.

So, who's in and who's out for Dyno Day?

and

Who's in Friday night to do something?

I'll be coming up on Friday (hopefully with my 67).
Need to find out about a room or something close the the dyno...
and then on Saturday will probably stay close the track at the BK Hotel....

But, yea I am up for anything Friday night... :D

Whipped... I don't think so..... I have been trying to save up for a house so that explains why I haven't been on here much. I can't spend the money on my car and it drives me a little nutty seeing the progress on everyones car.

Well I'm off to Jake's with a stop at Zen's to drop off the platform for the "Fender" speaker cabinet.
I am going to help Jake get the 3L on the Dyno, it is a long block now and will need some shroud mods to fit a DTM to the new Massive heads(Billet with Type 1 exhaust ports) We will also have to make some push rod tubes (weld 2 to make 1) due to the extra-long stroke. He hopes to have it on the Dyno tonight and running Wed. If it doesn't destroy itself it should be at Dyno Day in the Blue Bug.

i'm good to go at this point. i have about 70 miles on it this weekend and all temps looked great. i will be putting a bunch more on over the next week and a half. believe it or not, the suspension still isn't right, but it'll do for now.

i'm REALLY looking forward to the weekend.

to more tranny problems :(

It is being pulled out as we speak and going back the tranny builder...

Type IVs were the Bomb with Raby pulling almost 200 hp and Zen winning the Best of Show with a very nice pull too!

I have dig. vid of both on the dyno, but no way to host them!

what a great time!!!! hats off to the BKC for another great event. i'll get some details on here in a couple of days. my backlog of work is calling. short story is my numbers weren't what i had hoped knowing what i was getting at the flywheel. also didn't do that great at the track, but either did most. it was pretty slippery out there. i also have some suspension and engine tuning to do. a hell of a fun time though. i did get Promoter's Choice though, which was a 5' trophy! and that going to a GL and coming from a group of resto guys with a lot full of choices in that category was pretty shocking and a great feeling.

jeff, i am looking to make some room to host those. let's figure out how to get the bits to me.

Yes it was a great event. My numbers wer less than they should have been too. I did not have the time to properly prepare for the roller. My transaxle on the other hand would say that the numbers were more than enough. It gave it up with a mighty bang on the first launch and I moved all of 6 inches. It looks like the diff. is wasted. I have lauched it at the same 2000 rpm on the street before but looking down the tree and Zen in the other lane might have brought the clutch out a little quicker on a much stickier surface.
I still had a great time even with the breakdown. :agree:
