Well it was close :(
I was all set up to buy an Oval and an '73 IRS pan locally here in Virginia...
This morning the damn Eurovan blows the oil cooler in the driveway and sends a cold cold puddle of black gold all over the place.
Why does this really matter? Because I need that POS for work! Now I have to use the old Chevy truck and buy a 6x10 cargo trailer plus a steel frame long roof rack (for 16' trim boards). Essentially there went my $4K for play time :(
... Um, Merry Christmas... sniff sniff :bawling:

Sorry to hear that. But you know what they say, things happen for a reason.

Sorry I can share you sentiment.... this would mean that all things are destined and you have no say in the matter.
The truth of the matter is.... Shiat happens!!!
Pillow... I feel your pain man! Ive been there before.
You will recover and it will work out, just later instead of sooner

I know of a very nice Oval project car in McDonough, all body work is done(right), everything is there. Pan is done. Pick your color and build it. $4000

Rob Lunsford, I guy I work with. I don't think you have met him. He doesn't belong to a club or go to shows(don't know why). It is a nice car and a great deal. He has a line on a 51 Split (clean, untouched, original) so he has to sell the Oval project.

Yeah, but it's what I keep telling myself. I've been looking for a good 70 square project for a long time. Everytime I find one, no cash, etc... Have to keep my sanity somehow.
Then again, I vote for the hex!

Semi good news. IF IF IF the problem is what I think it is, then the fix is like $10 :) O-rings around the oil cooler.
That would be sweet, but I still really need a trailer for work.
... I will keep you all updated in the next few weeks as to how it plays out. In a way I could just get the pan and work it up slow. Then next year start to look for a body. It seems that most peoples pans take a while anyway to get right.
Zen, what do you have going on man! :)
Thanks!

it is a '74 with backwards mods to look early, but the benefits of late model. so worked well for me since i like early looks but prefer IRS, etc. the lenses are actually Porsche lenses. not my favorite either, but i like them a lot better than stock or fluted. thought about speedster grills, but since i have them on my big i figured it was better to have something different.
i do have a few mods planned. just bought a sport steering wheel. will be changing from the Scat Pro-90 seats to something else (thinking Recarro knock-offs), wider front tires, front sway bar (maybe rear), maybe go back to stock beam, add backseat, add seatbelts everywhere (there are none), and more.
woo, just realized this is way off this thread. sorry to hi-jack it Pillow!
back on subject, and updates pillow? cheap repair?
