Thanks for sharing your ride with us. Its one bad bug!

2 questions: Could you explain how you pressurise the engine bay, and, I was wondering about your choice of a 73mm crank. Thats not one of the "usual" sizes.

Thanks
Ron

Ron, i wrote the article about Jak's car. And if I remember correctly, the pressurized effect in the engine bay takes place because he is running a Porsche style wing that allows air to be forced into the engine compartment.

Jak, if I am wrong about this, please let me know :D

Thats exactly right Joe, I also don't use the the fron breast plate between the engine & the fire wall so as to get even more air into the engine bay. The only downside is that after a day on the track the engine bay gets a little dustier than normal.
The crank is a custom crank, only a few were made in Australia.

there is another way to get a 73mm stroker crank.

take a 69mm VW journal crank and have it offset ground to chevy/buick journals

Why not use a more conventional crank (size that is) that is more readily available? I would like to know if it was an attempt to make an engine more 'square' or what?

Thanks in advance.
