Can this be used on 1303?

Yes they will work. That is what I'm using and I wish I could have got them for that price. I bought my springs from sway a way 150# 12inch free lenth 2.5 inch O.D. And I used a KYB Rabbit Insert for dampers.

Pity that the auction is for the US only. I am going to use the same approach to fabricate some Golf Mk1 (Rabbit) struts which I've already got. Does anyone know if the measurement of 944 strut is same as that of Golf strut so that I can use 944 coilover thread sleeve on the Golf strut?
