I'm a little confused.
I was looking at the interior photos section and came across two people with the same style ($700 shifter) the racing looking one w/ the metal box
and both of them have the shifter mounted in two different positions.
Is one of them mounted backwards or does it not matter?
What is the "correct" way or are they from two different sources (manufacturers) and are they actually each mounted correctly?

yea looking at the pics I really don't know how the shifters work, are they cable?

because with the universal joints there it just seems a little complex.

I have just bought one, the spring should be located towards the back of the car.

The cable is for reverse gear engagement.

If the gear stickis not mounted the correct way around, the reverse lockout will not finction correctly.

One problem that I encoutered with the gearstick cage is that its very close to the handbrake lever. You may have a problem(I find it awkward) pressing the button when the handbrake is fully up. I bent the handbrake lever slightly so that it now moves up and down between driver's seat and gear stick cradle.
