I was rebuilding the rear end, replacing the rear wheel bearing and was wondering if I could add a grease fitting at the back side of the bearing carrier.
I have an irs bug so if ever needed I could simply add grease at the rear wheel bearings until the grease starts to ooze out the oil seals, this way I know that the bearings are completely packed.
what do you think? The only down side I could come up with is whether or not the hole needed to add the fitting may weaken the bearing carrier, but I don't think this will be much, considering a grease fitting is rather small :)
thanks
