Hi All, first post. I recently got my first beetle, a 74 SB. Currently it has the stock drivers side rearview mirror. I'd like to replace it and add one to the passenger side with something a little more euro. I know there are lots of options, but does anyone sell sporty looking mirrors that will mount using the stock mounting hole? I am sure I could cover it up and drill new holes, but if I could avoid new holes I'd like too. Thanks!

Hi
I used local Ford mirrors from the 1970s, they had a leg which bolted to the Ford door, I cut this off and glassed it in, then I used the attaching arm from a stock mirror, cut the mirror off, drilled & tapped the end and bolted it trough the mirrors side. This is what they looked like on my old car. I take pictures of the arms if you need them.

Those look good Steve, I hadn't considered cutting the mounts off and reusing, it's something to think about. I also turned up some mirrors from RACETECH, looks like they mount with a single bolt similiar to the VW. I'll have to look closer at them too.
