I saw them and liked them. A lot. I asked a general question once a long time ago as to whether the water temp gauge could be converted to some other type gauge such as a cylinder head temp gauge.
I tried searching for my question but couldn't find it. It is possible I asked on a different forum before I got locked in here and SBO!
I don't remember the answer but I think the answer was yes but it was an involved yes. Of course, if you are going Suby or rotary, that particular gauge would be okay anyway.
I'd sure like a confirmation or correction on my issue as well as the answer to your general question.

Oasis,
you are correct on the water temp gauge for the watercooled engine option, but wrong about the relcounter...Todays Porsche engines are 6 cylider and the beetle and subaru are 4 cylinder engines (the rotary is 2 "cylinder" ), so the signal will not be correct...

Thanks for the correction. I knew there was a reason I had ruled it out but I could neither remember if it impossible or just beyond my scope of talent nor could I find it when doing different searches. (I also learned something new about the rotary. Although it will probably never see the inside of any air-cooled of mine, I am a fan of the engine from when my wife owned an RX-7.)
