Hydraulic suspension

Hiya folks!

This goes out to all the Suspension Gurus out there.... :D

I am thinking about doing a hydraulic suspension set-up in my Super(going ot be a GLooker). the donor car will be a Citroen BX, they are cheap and plenty full to be had. These came with them things stock. I read up about this a bit, and seems that hydraulic(linked) suspension offers quite a bit of benefits.... :cool:

Now besides a lot of cutting and welding, which I can/will be doing myself.... And besides that I might be considered as a bit 'off my trolley'.... Can someone please advise me why I SHOULDNT go for this (please base comments on technical facts)....

Since you asked for it... just a few thoughts:

1. shock absorber length. I know that they are fully height>length adjustable, but if the max/min length doesn't match at all with the length of the McPherson strut on the super beetle?
2. probably the mounting points of the absorber won't match the one on the super beetle's spindle
3. these systems rely on an engine driven oil pump. I dont know how much load this will be on your engine, since the pump has to run all the time to provide the system with constant oil pressure according to ride height setting.

Thanks for the reply. No need ot apologise. This is the kind of feedback I need(want). The work itself needed/involved does not scare me off the idea. But rather the fact that it would work or not... And as well wether I will gain any advantages from it(little or no 'tilting' or leaning when cornering etc).
