I AM GOING TO BE CARRYING OUT THIS CONVERSION TO MY SIXTY SIX. I HAVE THE LATER DISC BRAKE STUB AXLES OF A 1500 MODEL, I HAVE ALL THE BRAKE PARTS I NEED IE, HUBS CALIPERS AND DISCS. WHERE WOULD BE THE BEST PLACE IN THE UK TO GET THE HUBS MACHINED TO ACCEPT THE STANDARD BEARINGS ETC. :)

Just take your old beetle hubs and the 944 hubs to any machinist local to you. They can take the measurements from the old hubs and sleeve the 944's with aluminium inserts. I had mine done for £60 a pair. Just make sure that the turner clocks them up in the lathe properly so that they are guaranteed to run true.

Good luck!

Andy.

Well that's easy!

John Maher or Chris Avalos can do that very easy.
Pay something more to a specialist and you are sure that you don't pay someone to (maybe!) damage your parts.
