View Full Version : RHD 944 brake master cylinder?
Does anyone know if there is right hand drive version of the 944 brake m/c? Or if there is only one type of m/c for both LHD & RHD 944? This is because I am not sure if the 944 m/c which I can order from some US auto parts vendors will fit RHD Bug (1303). It looks like that the front tunnel section of RHD bug will block the m/c outlets.

Its a snug fit but you can run the lines between the tunnel and the M/C.
I don't think it matters on the 944, its out in the middle of the fire wall in the engine bay.

I can't answer from fact if there are LHD / RHD differences but I can't beleive there are. I have a UK purchased (so RHD) 944 Master cylinder fitted to a torsion bar front. Looking at it in position both the front near side pipe and the rear pipe come out on the left hand, tunnel side.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the input. It seems that there shouldn't be any problem to fit the 944 m/c on RHD bug. I think it will fit even better if using banjo fittings.
