okay guys I test fitted the body on the pan after getting my 944 MC (85 944 single pot brakes)and all the lines plumbed in.
Trouble is the body hits the 944 reservoir now. It looks like I have to move the MC back about .4" to clear the body or find an alternative to the 944 reservoir.
Has anyone dealt with this problem before? solutions?
I don't know if the stock 61' reservoir has enough capacity to look after the 944 MC. I was just going to use that as a filler and run a tube to the 944 reservoir.

Thanks
Mark

Are you using the stock 944 reservoir, the one that mounts right onto the MC? I never tried it that way but I pulled the reservoir off and put the remote reservoir nipples from the stock beetle MC in and used the stock beetle reservoir. It worked fine for me like that, hope this helps :)

Yup stock 944 reservoir. It looked good until I dropped the body on:(
What size of reservoir was stock on yours? the 61' is a little one with only one outlet.

Humble is right. Use the filler fittings from the stock MC, and then a remote resevoir. Anything works for the resevoir, you can probably modify your original for double outlets. Make sure you use the right rubber hose (from VW dealer or parts store), because regular rubber hose will start 'sweating' after a couple months.

hey, i'm stuck on this at the mo, i'm fitting up my 944 n/a master cylinder to my 1303 and the beetle fittings are way to small for the rubbers on the mc. what do i need? different push fittings or different rubbers? i'm carless till i can sort this out. cheers for any help.

What master cyl did you have before?
We have had 2 different M/c's lately and they had different size bases on their fittings.

I haven't found any yet to fit the 944 M/C but I'm hoping the OE size above are the correct ones

i'm going from original mc too 944 mc. that pic looks like standard size like i have at mo, 944 one has larger size into mc than the feed hose. hope this makes sence. maybe earlier beetles are different?

We have had 2 different sizes in the M/C for the 73' 1303. Different makes and different size inlet??????
Okay.... now I measured the 944 M/C reservoir nipples they are 13mm dia
and I have an early rabbit reservoir 8mm dia.
There must be different nipples available???

Gents,
Wondering if we have any photos / part lists for the setup of a 944TRemote Reservoir Parts/Install info's?

I have the MC and the Stock Reservoir, but not sure on what are and where I can get the "Nipples" that folks are talking about... I hear about but have not see the setup of this configuration.

Well this is what I did:
As you noticed, the rubber holes in the MC are too big diameter, for the beetle stock nipples to fit in.

I couldnt source the nipples that could fit in time, and this was easier and more fun to do, so I cut the nipples off the original 944 reservoir:

You can see the difference in diameter better here:
http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/xellex_anonim/2008-11-06%20Adaptari%20Adaptari/th_DSCF0059.jpg~original (http://s260.photobucket.com/albums/ii25/xellex_anonim/2008-11-06%20Adaptari%20Adaptari/?action=view&current=DSCF0059.jpg)
And then I put the beetle one through the porsche one, and glued them together with transparent "poxipol".

And this is the finished product:

awesome response!!!
I wonder if there are any issues with the smaller diameter and fluid flow... I don't expect so, and my solution was much the same but just wasn't sure.

Well this is what I did:

True and false. It depends on the manufacturer of the stock MC. The old school german ones '(FAG, IIRC) had the small nipples, but alot of the aftermarket ones (VARGA) are actually the same diameter as the 944 ones. Plug and play.

Good luck,
