ok here it goes. First I have a 72 1302. Secondly i just purchased a complete 85 944. I've read all the threads here and some on stf but it seems the more i read the more i get confused. First it is my understanding that with a shim for the ball joint I can fit everything from the spindle out if i switch to the 1303 front lower arm. and secondly for the rear i can bolt the trailing arm and everything else out without major modification. is this correct? Now i think I have that straight I'm running a Type one 1.9 right now but am in the process of building a 2.3 type four. my other question is I've learned that the turbo calipers and disks are larger. What years are they from. and how much more modification is required for this setup. and lastly since i have the 944 master should i switch to that for now or Should I stepup to the 911 unit now.

Here you are!

If you get 1303 74+ control arms, struts and sway bar you ca install the entire 944 front spindles !You need to make 2 shims for the lower ball joints or to order a pair from Kerscher.
944 NA rear trailing arms are a direct bolt on EXCEPT the cv's outer diameter as the VWs are 90mm and the 944 are 100mm.
Solution : vw 181 "thing" transmission output flanges (100mm) and 944 rear axles or remove the caliper bracket, hub etc from the 944 trailing arm and install it at your trailing arms they fit ! No cv problems anymore !
951 (944 turbo) first year is 1986 last is 1992 968 are using the same brakes...Front rotors are 298x28 and rears 299x24 951&968 "S" are using 304x32 front rotors and lager calipers (928 S4) all later aluminium trailing arms require a lot of more parts to be installed.Longer cvs, different spring plates etc...
