I have a set of 15x7 et52.5mm phone dials with a 2" narrowed BJ beam with a 2-3" drop, 944N/A front disks on my 61'beetle with a 69' IRS pan.
Just wondering if anyone is running something similar, and tire size experiences.
Thanks Mark

I've never run that particular combo, but I know a 7"et42 on a 3" beam tucks stock fenders, and on a 2" beam it just fits. You will probably need spacers to get the deeper offset wheels away from the lower control arm so you have a decent turn capabilities.

Flat is right, I have a set of cookies. I stuck them on my Ghia just for kicks and they catch the lower ball joint. Almost sit on it. Stock beam, with lowered spindles. I had to buy a 16" or larger spare because the 15" inflate-a-spare did the same thing.

I know I'm okay as far as clearance to suspension and the fenders. I just need to finish assembly on my steering so I can find out how little steering I have:eek: nothing like waiting for parts..... again
Looks like I'll have to invest in some spacers and longer studs.

How about an update & maybe a pic?

I'm waiting on my 15x7 phonedials to show. They are going on a '74 Standard.

I'm running 15x6.5 on a '70 Standard.
I'm using a spacer, but my turning radius still sucks.

What's your offset? Got a pic showing the fender too? Just to see how it fits.

I'm not really happy how they fit. I was planning on using the car for autoX, but it now has the turning radius of a Semi :bawling:
Should have done more research up front.
Eventually I might have to go with a narrowed beam, and even bigger spacers...

I *think* the offset is either +35 or +38, I'd need to measure to be sure.

Where does it rub? The trailing arms or fender?

That sucks, kinda reminds me of my bug.Mine stick out like that, sad thing is there 15x4.5" but I think what makes mine l;ook like that is the 195/60 on my wheel. It looks just like that, looking at your picture above. wonder how my turning will be...

The tire actually hits the framehead.

You can get some narrower tires, and that will allow it to clear. Not sure what size you are running, but if they were 8s, i would recommend a 195/50 or 45.
